Carl J.
Widmar Jr., 80, of Friendship, Wisconsin, went into the loving arms of
our heavenly father on Monday, February 16, 2015. At the time of his
death, he was surrounded by family.
He was born January 7, 1935 in Kenosha, the son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Carl (Helen Mechowicz) Widmar, Sr. Carl was educated in local
schools and served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army in Korea
from 1952 to 1955, was wounded and honorably discharged. On November
12, 1955, he was united in marriage to Harriet H. Barnes at St.
Therese Roman Catholic Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Carl was employed by American Motors Corp in Kenosha as a General
Superintendent. He moved to Toledo, Ohio, retiring from Chrysler Jeep
Corp as a Center Manager in 1988. After retiring, he moved to
Friendship, Wisconsin, which he often referred to as “God’s country.”
There he was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church,
Friendship, Wisconsin, Usher club, Ke-Nash-A Club, VFW, PLAV, Silver Dollar Club and the American Legion. What he
enjoyed most was fishing and deer hunting with his family and
friends.
Surviving him are his wife, Harriet; his sons, Randy (Anne) of
Kenosha, WI, Rick (Peggy) of Roscoe, IL, and Rory of Arkdale, WI;
daughter Carla (John) Tossava of Bristol, WI; grandchildren, Dale
(Elizabeth) Widmar, Emily (Wilfrido) Valle, Charles Widmar, Douglas
(Jackie) Widmar, Andrew Widmar, Corie (Travis) Bies, and Paul
(Monica) Tossava; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and
nieces. Also surviving him are his siblings, Dennis (Mary) Widmar,
Marlene (Howard) Schmaling, Toni Marie Widmar, Barbara
Gordon, and Thomas Hansen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Louise, brother
Donald Hansen, sister, Jane Marinelli and one grandchild, Daniel John
Widmar.
